I really enjoyed Idiocracy. Man there's a lot of these commercials!
You know, I had no idea this was from something!
Haven't you seen Idiocracy? Huh, I thought you had. It's one of those movies that if you catch at the right time/place/mood is a good movie. Otherwise it's like; "what the...should I watch this? Maybe I should go to sleep."
Yes, watch it! It is good! It's Mike Judge, very good but Fox got freaked out by it right before its release and they did the minimum promotion and showings contractually possible!
I think I am permanently in the right mood for it.
Why the hell does Fox DO that? I mean, I know promotion is expensive, but it just seems so completely chickenshit.
Still, maybe this practice allows stuff like Firefly and Arrested Development to get made in the first place. I'd rather have 1-2 seasons of awesome cut down before its prime than nine seasons of the perfectly serviceable but un-world-changing Everybody Loves Raymond.
I theorise that it was the evolved branding in the movie that killed it, but it's also got some awesome futuristic Fox news broadcasts in it.
I saw it by accident and was very much in the humour for it. I am constantly reminded that it very contemporary and not set in the distant future at all...
