San Diego ComiCon Costumes 2010

Yeah, so I didn't go to ComiCon, but here's the only reason why I would ever go: Costumes.

The Real Life Super Hero Project

You know, I'm really not entirely clear what's going on here. Something's going on, though. I know this is of interest. I know a lot of us want to do good. I know a lot of us have costumes.

More information (kind of) here.

Fuck-me-boots? You be the arbiter!

Normally I'm not one to dwell on cosplay girls (cough), or World of Warcraft(cough cough). Nor do I enjoy the combination of cosplay and world of warcraft (hack cough cough) But damn, if that isn't some impressive footwear! After looking at the rest of the photoset I notice the tail is a bit weak though.

Totally lifted from Kotaku with great thanks!

If we're going to dress up for cosplay, I think we should go here.

what I hate/love about cosplay.

<---What I hate about these is that the person gives up at some critical point and thus makes the entire ensemble look lazy. This is like especially a double fail for the steampunk guys. A top hat awith a watch on it?? FUCK YOU! The GIR isn't bad, it's the two douches next to it I hate.
<---My love for these is that the cosplayer is either very brave or very thorough about their costume choices. You can tell they really love what they are doing. Of course, then there's the TIE fighter guys who in a weird way address the whole ship/environment as character issue we had a few weeks back. Yay! I love tie-ins! It's like going to a dungeons & dragons con dressed as a dungeon.

No really, we should consider going next year. More pics here.

OWNT

Yesterday I was talking to Fugu about how upon going to the midnite premiere of The Dark KNight, Mr. Pony and I were feeling like we were nowhere near the level of hardcore Caped Crusader fan we may have thought we were, and that was ok. It's like thinking you are a hardcore star wars fan, then meeting someone with a Boba Fett insignia tattooed on his shoulder. Well here's big respects to this pair and their CONvergence:Minneapolis/Twin Cities costume choice. I just wonder if she can pull off the voice.

We Want More

Shall we have at it? My mentally ill friend here and I would like a try at that Risk thing again.

Plus, happy AfterThanksgiving.

Plus, this place has been awfully quiet recently.

And Hey! Good luck with the football game tonight!!!! Go Fucking Bows and all that shit!
