If there were a few random pieces of trash I would guess it was a backdrop for some generic apocalyptic zombie movie. It's just such an ironic picture.
i think it's a combination of the two. the fearmongering about what the protesters might do is intense (and mostly totally made up). and downtown pittsburgh is a transportation hub, both for buses and highways, so the fact that a large portion of it is closed off is likely going to be really inconvenient for a lot of people. people are just staying away from downtown, and for many people that means missing work. the meeting doesn't start til tomorrow and my bus into town was almost empty. my whole office is working from home tomorrow and friday.

Nice. I don't know why they make the locations of these meetings public knowledge. Isn't there some mountain base or undersea compound they can use?

perhaps you are aware that pittsburgh is zombie central!
So are the people of Pittsburgh excited to have the World in town? Or is it more of an annoyance?

If nothing else, I hope the Venus-traveling wife of the new Japanese prime minister makes everything a little interesting.
I want to see her moonwalk!
Woah, I didn't know she went to venus!.
"It was a very beautiful place and it was really green."
