This reminds me of an analysis I read of the first iPod commercials. Having the dancers as faceless silhouettes allowed viewers to picture themselves as hip and cool and as spectacular dancers if they get an iPod without the embarrassment of anyone seeing them.

This shows exactly why the reverse doesn't work. Showing the reality of total dorks dancing on TV looking like assholes does not sell your product. It makes the geek in me want to crawl under a rock and die.

Well, except that it's microsoft. Rock that macarena, dudes

Yeah, wow. It's a little too obvious. If I were there, I would have totally rocked out for about 15 seconds until I realized that I should be embarrassed.

My favourite is the redhead in the green shirt.

I'm a little stunned at the customers joining in. I imagine that these are the sorts of people that go to weddings hoping that conga lines form.
