I also like the teen vampires, but have you read the Twilight books? I got as far as the introduction of the first one and got too depressed by the bad mormon teenage girl sex/death psychology.

My wife read them all though and pointed out that it's a post-feminist reaction to Buffy. The heroine is all useless and has to get saved by the older, smarter male vampire all the time while begging him to sleep with and/or vampirify her. However, he points out that her purity and virginity are her noblest features so he can't...

I haven't seen the film, though.

Never read/seen Twilight either. I mean to, because everyone's obsessed with it, but the premise strikes me as shoehorned into the Vampire Myth, to the detriment of both. Again, I have to read these books to make a fair judgment, but I find myself thinking this: What's so interesting about hunger that isn't insatiable?

I'm also of the mind that to two people really really like each other in the pants, they should go right ahead and make pants sandwiches, and see what develops from there. So, I'm old-fashioned, that way.
