I've debated about whether to post this or not, but I think I will. My unbelievably lovely wife Ellie passed away one week ago today from lung cancer. As p.o.t.-ers may remember, she really liked the x-men-- she'd filled in the 15 years or so of gaps in my collection from the 70s-90s via ebay by the time we'd been together a few months. I made this picture of Ellie as Dazzler for her birthday invitation two years ago.
I love you, Ellie.

This is just awful news, and really really sad. I never knew Ellie, but I know you, and I know you would've done anything in the world for her. I'm so sorry, Ruby.
This is devastating. I am so very sorry for your loss Ruby. I know a little of you from Mike and your posts here, but I feel for you keenly.. Ellie sounds like a very cool person. -John
She sounds absolutely wonderful, Ruby. I can't begin to imagine. I'm so terribly sorry.
Hello Ruby - I'm so sorry for your loss. This birthday invitation makes it very clear she was a real inspiration! Please accept my warm thoughts from Hawaii even thought we've never met...
Ruby, this is very sad, and I am very sorry for you and yours. I've never met either of you, but I can sense that the photo you posted probably showcases something that you loved about her. I think sharing loss and connecting with it is healthy in a difficult time, so I think you made a good call. My thoughts have been with you, regardless of the distance of our relation.
I'm so sorry you had to go through this, Ruby. She sounds like an irreplaceable woman. I break with the usual heavily spiritual Pieces of Things to say that her energies were probably needed elsewhere in the universe. It's something my wife says and I like the sound of it.
