Collaborating on Posts
After that chat we had last night, I'm trying to think of ways we can collaborate on posts. Anyone have any ideas? Could we use other sites? We could start a Flickr Group for each post... That seems a bit much, but maybe it's on the right track.

The forum was really great in terms of team contribution, but the crappy thing about that was the password entry thing. That part sucked. I didn't like that part. Everything else was great, though!
We could just attach a forum. Like, one I didn't find in a dumpster. If there were some way to show updates on the main blong page, that would be pretty neat. Where's Disney when you need him?
It seems rather humbug to create the whole thing anew somewhere but I do want the ability to contribute to a thread where all can see the posts and potential images. i wish bloggar would realize that like there's more than one way to have a blog page. Thinking that only one person would contribute images is a strangely ego driven system.
To be honest I don't feel flickr would quite have the tools we would need for what you're talking about.
Here's a good list of alternatives to bloggar.
I can't believe you Bar-rolled.
Fugu!!! What the hell!
Also, I can't believe I clicked on the link AFTER READING Panic's comment...
Hey Mr. Pony, send me the login info and I'll have a root around and see what the options are...
It's your same login; you are an admin now!
ta-dahh! No borders! I will look more at the collaborative stuff later...
Hey, thanks, R.T.! My bucket looks great!
Does everyone here have a Flickr account?
I think collaborative posts could work like this (I hope to demo this soon to make it more specific and clearer and less techy and so on):
1. we post a little flash slideshow widget somewhere on the web (at mrpony.com, for example).
2. We hook up the widget to read Flickr streams.
3. When you want to post a collaborative visual post, you just note a really really unique keyword, like PiecesOfThingsGoatseTributes or something.
4. We all upload our tribute images to our Flickr accounts and tag them with the appropriate keyword.
5. You then set up a flash embed pointing to our slideshow, and pass it a parameter to tell it which keywords you want to show, like embed src='http://mrpony.com/slideshow.swf?PiecesOfThingsGoatseTributes or something (I'm unsure of the syntax).
6. Voila, you've got a post which is a slidehow that other people can add photos to. We could probably have it screen out people's photos who weren't us if we wanted to be mean about it.
