I think I just like seeing James Jean on Pieces' front page. I can just imagine the pitch, though... "It's part West Wing, part Lord of the Rings, part Pushing Dais... Um, I mean part Dancing with the Stars..."
Seriously, it's not like they could just give the TV executives the comic to read. Could you imagine that? ABC Exec upon receiving a copy of Fables: "What's this? What do I do with this?" Pitchman: "...You read it." Exec: "what, like a book? What the hell is this? storyboards? I think someone gave me the wrong copy. Can you have someone call downstairs and send the right thing up here? Have someone fired as well."

Can I be the first to say "Oh no..."?

I know how that exec feels. I can't be bothered to watch TV anymore.
