This is my favorite animal in the whole world-- the binturong. Some people call them by their more common name-- the "Asian bearcat"-- but in my opinion, those people are lame because why would you, when "binturong" is so much more fun to say?
The best thing about binturongs is that they emit a strong musk that smells like fresh cornbread or warm tortillas. Mmmmm, warm tortillas. Not to mention they have prehensile tails! That means they can use their tail to grab stuff. How cool is that?! Can you do that? Didn't think so.

Sometimes I tell people that my dog is part binturong because sometimes he smells like warm tortillas. No one ever believes me. One day, I swear to God, I am going to have my very own binturong and you can't stop me.

I agree with you, helpwillcome, who ever the hell you are. That's a damn cool animal, and prehensile tails are the shit. Normal animals are just too boring. My cats, for example--here's a short list of things they CAN'T do with their tails: hang from shit, shoot guns, arts and crafts, coil them up in a spring, mime... So what good is that?
From wikipedia:
"It is neither a bear nor a cat, and the real meaning of the original name is lost, as the local language that gave it is extinct"
Well that sucks. Were they killed by binturongs?
I'm guessing they don't taste like warm tortillas, or otherwise they'd be extinct.
Ladies and Gentlemen, helpwillcome.
Dudes, I was watching this show on the secret towers of the Himalayas last night. It was awesome. There's all these insanely cool eight pointed towers in the Himalayas that have no strategic or cultural explanation, mainly because they were all built about eight hundred years ago, and the society that made them is extinct.
As far as bearcats are concerned, I'd rather have batmonkeys. I saw some Indonesian Sun Bears at a zoo one time when I was a young lad and they looked so much like men in bear suits that I got scared.
Binturongs are cool, not because they are weird and uncommon, but for their intrinsic genuine awesomeness. I approve of your choice of pets.
