EPIC FAIL
Hey, look, someone wrote an article about the nounification of the word "fail"! Doesn't it feel great to be validated? Seriously, the hubris of this article (talking about being cool while simultaneously attempting to remain cool) should be a lesson to us all, Galspanic: One cannot be a parent and a hip parent at the same time. The harder you try, the more you will fail. The more you are fail. Whatever. Whatevs. Whhhh.

tilt-shift movie
There's been some tilt-shift/(photoshop-shift) photos floating around the web --> here's a pretty sharp movie version along the same idea.

No, no; get away from me. Her.
Everyone's all up in arms about McCain calling Obama "that one" but the moment that really stuck out in my mind was this sweet move that McCain pulls about 15 seconds in to the clip, refusing to shake hands with Obama, instead directing him to shake hands with his cylon wife. I mean, never mind the snub directed at Obama. How do you parse this if you're Cindy McCain?
UPDATE: Everyone is talking about this, too.

UR So Gay

Dear Aaron,
You don't know me, but I feel compelled to apologize on behalf of my evil doppelganger for maintaining an eponymous website devoted solely to questioning your sexuality. That was really uncalled for of not-me, and frankly, kinda juvenile.
P.S. If you really are gay, then I guess it's not really slander then, is it. So beat it.

the end of things
if you have about 1.7 hours or so, the visually un-stunning ppt presentation at the following link will walk you through why we're all fucked in the next couple of decades. the presentation is broken up into 19 "lessons," with the first few dwelling on some points you probably know quite well. but i promise that if you hang in there, it builds to a fairly convincing and horrifying conclusion.
pony i'm sure is already well-stocked for the apocalypse. can the rest of you say the same?
