Disappointing news for Mr. 'Panic.

It seems that a Lego based RTS game is in the works and will be released in June. What's disappointing is that it looks pretty crap. This is a personal thing for me. I take this seriously folks. I'm feeling a little doo-doo right now. Not literally feeling it, (though I probably do that daily with the boys...) but really folks...This isn't what I wanted to hear from Lego, or Real Time Strategy games. I'm disappointed in both.

But seriously, it's a DS game. That's not even remotely to the scale that you're trying for so it's not like they're taking away your thunder, which will be large when you finish.

I agree with these guys that an FPS or fighting game would sound more fun from how they seem to be tackling this. The lego bit seems to stuck on (oops) as an afterthought and have no actual meaning to the game, which seems stupid and ancillarily pointless.

A lot of LEGO games are like that. Aside from some very basic thematic integration (finding enough pieces to build a thing, then watching it auto build) LEGO is usually just another license layer, like Sponge BOB or Batman. I've never seen a Batman game where the Batman sprite or model couldn't have been replaced by some other spy/commando/paramilitary character.

Not that LEGO Star Wars wasn't insanely addicting and fun. Not that I didn't play it to 100%, something I almost never do with games.
