  1. I agree with Mr. Plinkett's oddly nuanced review. I really enjoyed Avatar, when I wasn't completely embarrassed and insulted by how stupid and easily manipulated it thought I was.

  4. It does seem more like a theme park ride than a movie, so I'm glad to have that confirmed. This guy's right: Cameron (and Lucas before him with the Star Wars prequels) are taking movies in the exact wrong direction. Though I guess there's no way to take them in the right direction, since the stupid, stupid public will vote with their dollars for whichever films go the wrongest way.
