Book Review: Star Fleet Technical Manual!

I found the Star Trek Technical Manual at a used bookstore the other day, I can't believe I've never heard of it before! It's got amazing diagrams of all kinds of things, from a pattern for a ladies' star-uniform (including space-panty) to a plan showing you where the toilets are on the bridge. It is my new favorite book.

  1. Wow, the toilet's right next to the viewscreen. Even weirder, the Captain's chair on the bridge doesn't actually face forward. I guess the whole thing is very fly-by-wire, and the intertial dampers remove any sensation of movement, but still.

  2. I vaguely remember the tech manual for the next generation. There was a cut-away blue print of the Enterprise D with a ducky and Porsche included.

I found a site that shows the images on the set, but I'll have to post a separate blog to post them. Would be cool to be able to post images in the comments.

  4. That's pretty cool! I heard of the bathroom thing. Fans began to ask at conventions where the bathrooms are. I didn't know about the off angle orientation of the bridge. Ah...I miss the trek.
