Disney Patterns

As loath as I am to post directly from the Curated Internet, there's this, and it's a little mind-blowing:

  1. Having done a small amount of traditional cel animation, I am completely and totally unsurprised by this. Technically it isn't all that cost cutting as they are drawing new images on re-used movement patterns. If they had flipped the images that they were rotoscoping, I bet no one would have noticed. It's very interesting to watch the re-use in succession.

  2. Keep in mind as well that this was all done before they were aware of the curated internet.

These days I'm sure they'd be more cautious about exposing themselves to the world, not unlike how people these days are much, much more cautious about sending newd pictures or videos of themselves to other random people or so-called "friends".

  4. Agree that it's not too surprising because of the cels, but wow. Whoever put this together totally hit the nail on the head (and other various body parts). I wonder how many films they watched and whether there are even more examples? Anyway, thanks for posting!

  5. So they used the original rotoscoping source. Diabolical!
