This reminds me of how they use PS3s now to do massive amounts of distributed computing. Maybe soon they'll be able to use the Wiimote to do some robotic surgery, at least in third-world countries where they won't mark up the price 1000%. Seriously. I don't think a lot of the world realizes how powerful (and just as importantly: cheap) gaming devices can be if put to use to do other things besides games.
